We’re leaving on a jet-plane…to Denver for ASMCUE 2017! The MiniOne Systems team is so excited to reconvene with old friends and new at another meeting of the nation’s best undergraduate microbiology educators. We had a fantastic time sharing the MiniOne Electrophoresis System with teachers at ASMCUE 2016 in Washington DC last year – and are looking forward to another great conference, as well as experiencing all that the Mile High City has to offer the weekend of July 27-30.
Here are just a few of Denver’s highlights we can’t wait to check out!
Red Rocks Amphitheater: If you appreciate music and nature, Red Rocks Amphitheater is a bucket-list level destination. The concert venue has hosted headliners like The Beatles and Tom Petty, and its geologic formations create natural acoustics that will impress music-lovers and scientists alike. Check out the Tedeschi Trucks Band on Saturday night – or just visit the park for free during the day.
Jax Fish House and Oyster Bar: After a long day of networking and learning at ASMCUE 2017, you deserve a good meal! We visited this seafood joint the last time we were demoing MiniOne systems in Denver and boy was it a hit. Between the delicious dishes and hand-crafted cocktails served in a fun and bustling environment, it is the perfect way to wind down after the conference. We also love that they devote themselves to sustainable fishing practices. Highly recommended!
Mt. Evans Scenic Byway: It wouldn’t be a trip to Colorado if you didn’t get to appreciate the Rocky Mountains, right? Though not quite in the city, the Mt. Evans Scenic Byway climbs through 5 climate zones to an elevation over 14,000 feet – making it North America’s highest paved road. We’re told the view from the top is jaw-dropping.
The MiniOne PCR Product Corner: Let’s get down to brass tacks. This weekend is all about sharing the latest information in the biological sciences and education research! That’s where our MiniOne PCR Product Corner comes in. Come by and check out MiniOne Systems’ newest addition to your biology education arsenal – a game-changing system that can help your students get hands-on and learn DNA amplification safely and affordably in just one class period.
Come get hands-on with the MiniOne PCR system on Saturday, July 29th at 9:30am in the Gold Room. We look forward to seeing you at ASMCUE 2017, and hope you have a fantastic time exploring all that Denver has to offer. Don’t forget to share your Product Corner photos on social media with the hashtags #theminione and #ASMCUE!
